Exploding Sandwich Bags

What you'll Need

●      One small (sandwich size) zip-lock bag – freezer bags work best.

●      Baking soda

●      Warm water

●      Vinegar

●      Measuring cup

●      A tissue

●      Plastic spoon

●      Plastic cup 



  1. Begin by pouring 1/4 cup of warm water into a sandwich bag.

  2. Next, introduce 1/2 cup of vinegar into the water already inside the bag.

  3. Take 3 teaspoons of baking soda and carefully place it in the center of a tissue.

  4. Fold the tissue around the baking soda, ensuring it is securely wrapped.

  5. Time is of the essence! Partially zip the bag, leaving enough space to insert the tissue containing the baking soda. Swiftly insert the tissue into the bag and quickly zip it closed.

  6. Find a suitable location, such as a sink or an outdoor area, and position the bag there. Stepping back, prepare to witness an exciting reaction as the bag starts expanding, expanding... and if all goes according to plan...POP!

Bottle Lava Lamps

What you'll Need

●      vegetable oil 

●      Small plastic water bottle

●      Water

●      Food Colouring 

1: Begin by pouring oil into an empty bottle, filling it approximately one quarter of the way.

2: Proceed by adding water to the bottle, filling it around two quarters of the way.

3: Gradually introduce 3-4 drops of food coloring into the mixture, observing the mesmerizing transformation.

4: Securely screw the lid on the bottle, ensuring it is tightly sealed. Give the bottle a gentle tilt from side to side, immersing yourself in the captivating effects. Sit back, relax, and enjoy this delightful creation!

Cornstarch Slime

What you'll Need

  • Cornstarch (approximately ½ cup)

  • Water (approximately ¼ cup)

  • Food coloring (optional)

  • Mixing bowl

  • Spoon or popsicle stick

  1. In the mixing bowl, add the cornstarch.

  2. Gradually add water to the cornstarch while stirring continuously. Start with a small amount of water and add more as needed until you achieve a thick, gooey consistency.

  3. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to the mixture and stir until the color is evenly distributed.

  4. Continue stirring and kneading the mixture with your hands until it becomes more solid and less sticky.

  5. Play with your cornstarch slime and explore its unique properties!
